Generation Rx was developed by collaboration between The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy and Cardinal Health in 2009 and was picked up by APhA-ASP as a new operation soon after. The mission of GenerationRx is to promote public awareness of prescription medication abuse.

In pharmacy school, we learn all the ways prescription medication abuse can be harmful. GenerationRx works to spread public awareness through one-on-one communication, group presentations, and social media.

Generation Rx also educates about medication safety and has presented to elementary students about safe practices. GenerationRx is also partnering with our chapters policy chairs to develop a professional student recovery program and partner with Cougars in Recovery and CAPS to beat the stigma of addiction.
